Garden Grove
through its food.

Korean barbecue, Vietnamese landmarks, longtime neighborhood restaurants, an Elvis-filled dining room, modern barbecue, and a food hall built for trying more than one thing.

Start with the essentials
More than one dining district

The city changes every few blocks.

Garden Grove’s dining identity stretches from Orange County Koreatown and the Garden Grove side of Little Saigon to Historic Main Street, SteelCraft, neighborhood shopping centers, and restaurants that became destinations far beyond the city.

This guide is extensive, never exhaustive. Two city landmarks appear twice when they offer genuinely different ways into the guide. Every other restaurant appears once.

A useful first pass

Four ways into Garden Grove.

Start with traditional Korean barbecue, an award-winning bowl of phở, local Thai cooking, or an outdoor food hall built for trying more than one thing.

Mike’s noteEasily the most traditional Korean barbecue place I've visited. The food, cold noodles, and service were all great. The parking lot is tiny and the lines can get long, so plan ahead.

Phở 79

A dining district shared across city lines

Little Saigon deserves the deeper guide.

Garden Grove contains an essential part of Little Saigon, including Phở 79, Brodard Chateau, Vietnamese seafood restaurants, bakeries, coffee shops, and specialty kitchens. The district continues into Westminster and nearby cities, so its full story needs more than one city rail.
